Dubai may be the dominant Middle Eastern destination when it comes to luxury tourism, but its neighbours are quickly getting in on the act, with a raft of new, high-end hotels and resorts set to open across the region over the remainder of 2022.

Anantara Mina Al Arab - UAE
Located in Ras Al Khaimah, the northernmost Emirate of the UAE, the Anantara Mina Al Arab resort will be the country's first eco-resort featuring overwater villas.
Equipped with private plunge pools and boasting stunning views over the pristine eco-sanctuary and the turquoise waters of the Persian Gulf, these luxury dwellings will rival those in the Maldives or French Polynesia, whilst the resort will also feature over 150 luxury rooms and suites, a health club (complete with tennis courts and yoga studios) an outdoor pool and numerous drinking and dining options.
Waldorf Astoria - Kuwait
Set within The Avenues, Kuwait's largest shopping mall (and one of the largest on earth), which offers 1,200,000 sqm of shops, eateries and entertainment, Waldorf Astoria Kuwait, is the latest Middle Eastern location from Hilton's high-end hotel brand.
As well as 200 luxury rooms and suites, the property will feature a 13,500 square-foot spa, a fitness centre, an NYC-inspired dining lounge and stunning, panoramic views over the city.
Rosewood, Doha - Qatar
Luxury international hotel chain Rosewood's first location in Qatar will be comprised of two stunning towers (inspired by the coral reefs in the surrounding seas) overlooking the harbour of Lusail City, a brand new, luxury development on the outskirts of the capital Doha.
Along with 185 guestrooms and suites and 173 serviced apartments for medium to long term rental, the resort will feature 300 residencies which will be available for purchase. Other facilities include, a 1,500-square-metre ballroom for hosting events, eight eateries and 'Sense', a signature Rosewood Spa with a design and concept inspired by purity and authenticity.
Atlantis The Royal Resorts and Residences - UAE
Atlantis The Royal Resorts and Residences, is the latest addition to The Palm Jumeirah's, (Dubai's iconic palm tree-shaped archipelago) array of world-class resorts and hotels.
Set to cost over £1 Billion to construct, the impressive structure will house nearly 800 guest rooms and 102 suites, including a series of cascading, “sky-courts” offering spectacular sea vistas thanks to their floor to ceiling windows, terraces, and infinity-edge pools.
Guests will be able to choose from 18 different bars and eateries, hosted by world-famous chefs such as Heston Blumenthal, whilst other notable features include a rooftop infinity pool (nearly 100m above ground) and 'The Skyblaze Fountain', which according to their website, "dramatically collides Fire & Water to create a beautiful harmony."
Nobu Hotel Riyadh - Saudi Arabia
Billed as 'the very first five-star luxury boutique hotel in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia', the latest opening from the iconic, Hotel and Lifestyle brand Nobu, is a 23-story glass-panelled skyscraper that blends contemporary design with arabesque architecture and subtle elements inspired by the brand's Japanese heritage.
