Con-Crete Evidence Travel Is Returning To Normal For Holidaymakers

Whilst winter slowly crawls under the gap in the door, tapping us on the ankles reminding us to turn up the central heating, warmer news also makes it's way in through the window.

There's always a silver lining and for those of us who miss holidays and love travel, that silver lining comes in via a new slew of destinations placed on the safe travel corridor list. Meaning you can head to them without having to quarantine upon return home to the UK.

Crete is the latest to have been added and Greece is all but open with only a tiny minority of the country being left out of the travel corridor list. There's been a large decrease in the number of covid-19 cases in Crete resulting in it being deemed safe for tourism by the Department for Transport.

People can now visit hotspots such as Rhodes and Crete without needing to quarantine

Secretary of State for Transport, Grant Shapps, officially released the news via social media with a post stating:

“We are ADDING CRETE to the #TravelCorridor list this week.

“From 4am on Sunday 18 Oct, if you arrive from Crete, you will NO LONGER need to self-isolate.

“ALSO THIS WEEK, the whole of the UK is now aligned with our advice around all of the Greek Islands.”

The only remaining place in Greece that holidaymakers will be required to go into quarantine for upon returning to the UK is the party filled, LGBTQ friendly island of Mykonos. Visiting the parthenon in Athens for instance is now a risk free endeavour.
