From October 10 to 12, 2025, this charming Italian town will host the Tiramisu World Cup, a three-day sugar-fuelled showdown where 240 different versions of Italy’s most beloved dessert will go head-to-head for the ultimate crown.

And here is the best part: the organisers are on the hunt for 100 lucky food lovers to become official judges. Yes, that means ordinary people (like you!) could get the once-in-a-lifetime chance to taste, evaluate, and ultimately help decide which tiramisu reigns supreme.

So, how do you land the sweetest job on Earth?

Every year, hopeful tasters must pass a quirky 15-question test about the rules of the competition. In the past, you had time to brush up on your tiramisu knowledge—but this year, there’s a major shake-up. You’ll only have one single day to apply and complete the test, meaning you’ll need to be quick on the draw (and confident in your dessert expertise).

And don’t think it’s all about indulgence. While you do get to sample world-class tiramisus, judges must also act as guardians of tradition. That means carefully checking that the classic ingredients—think mascarpone, eggs, coffee, and Savoiardi biscuits—are all present and perfectly balanced.

As for the competitors? They’re not all professional chefs. Anyone with a love of tiramisu can enter, choosing between two categories:

• The Original Recipe: where every ingredient is sacred and substitutions are strictly forbidden.
  
• The Creative Recipe: where competitors can experiment, adding up to three extra ingredients to put their own spin on the classic dish (Nutella tiramisu, anyone?).
