Quadriplegic Sailor Natasha Lambert Sets Sights On Transatlantic Challenge
Natasha Lambert is showing just what can be overcome with her tremendous spirit and ambitious goal setting. The 23 year old lady from the Isle of Wight has quadriplegic athetoid cerebral palsy, which significantly impacts her limbs and speech. But that hasn't stopped her from becoming an avid sailor, and a patron of many charities that help other people in unfortunate circumstances.
She uses a cleverly rigged system, that allows her to control a boat using just her breath and tongue! What's more, this isn't the first time she's taken on this kind of epic challenge. She previously sailed the channel, the South coast of England and from Scotland to Ireland!
Now she's aiming to cross the Atlantic.
She's already set off on her most ambitious challenge yet with the aim of raising £30,000 for three charities. You can donate on her Virgin Money page here
After 14 years of sailing and raising thousands for charity, she's inspiring not only those who are disabled, but able bodied people too. Do you have any challenges set at the minute?
Why not take on a personal challenge for yourself!
