Songkran is Thai New Year, which takes place on 13th April every year.

Thai new year starts in the Spring and is in great Thai fashion, is one big party. The event includes the annual Songkran Beauty contest, as well as many food fairs. Thailand is well known for it's incredible cuisine, and it's put on show each year.

The new year in Thailand uses water as a way to wash away all misfortunes, which is a great excuse for a big public waterfight with large wild crowds.
