Rwanda is nicknamed ‘the land of a thousand hills’ and it’s easy to see why: from the soaring volcanic peaks of the Virunga Mountains in the north, to the wooded highlands of Nyungwe Forest National Park in the south, the country is characterized by rugged, jungle-covered, landscapes, home to all manner of flora and fauna including the endangered Mountain Gorilla.
Away from the mountains, the spectacular, wildlife-rich Lake Kivu is one of Africa’s great bodies of water, its shores feature a number excellent beaches, charming villages, and myriad hotels and resorts, whilst Kigali, the capital, is a vibrant and welcoming city, with a wealth of cultural, historical, and gastronomic offerings.
There are no direct flights from the UK to Rwanda. However, there are a number of direct routes from other European cities including, Amsterdam with KLM and Istanbul with Turkish Airlines.
The dry season from mid-May to mid-October is the best period to visit, as the conditions are perfect for tracking Gorilla’s, and other primates.
We recommend a minimum of 8 days.
UK citizens require a visa to enter Rwanda. Thirty-day tourist visas are free, and available on arrival.

Excellent service from start to finish. I booked the National 3 Peasks challenge in 24 hours. i had regular communication from Rob and the team prioe to the event checking in on my progress, which really spurred me on as well as a helpful fitness plan i has to folow. For the challenge itself Rob and Tim really helped put the group at ease, and was very encouraging. Such a credit to business. i would not hesitate at all in recommending bookitlist to friends and family and will define use again in the future. Thank you for pushing me to finish the challenge!
