A celebration of all things rock, pop, indie and heavy metal, Rock in Rio was first held in 1985 in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro.

And has since developed into one of the world’s largest and most epic music festivals. Over the years the festival has played host to many of the world’s biggest artists and musicians - such as Guns N’ Roses, Beyoncé and Elton John - and is now recognised as one of the major global players, while also launching smaller satellite events in a number of major cities across the globe, namely, Las Vegas, Madrid and Lisbon.

Summerfest, USA

Held in late June and early July on the banks of Lake Michigan in the US city of Milwaukee, Summerfest is the largest festival on the planet.

Attracting an incredible 8000,000 music fans every year! Spanning 3 weekends, and 12 different stages - which play host to some of the biggest bands and musicians in the world, along with a range of up and comers - the festival also features shopping marketplaces, a large kids area and a wealth of food and drink options.

Electric Daisy Carnival, USA

The US’ largest Electronic Dance Music (EDM) festival, Electric Daisy Carnival is held every summer on the outskirts of Las Vegas.

And along with a line up comprising a who's who of the genre’s most successful artists, is known for its awe-inspiring multi-sensory shows, which encompass some of the most spectacular light and pyrotechnics displays of any festival on earth!

Held annually, usually between the end of May and beginning of June, Primavera Sound, is one of Europe’s biggest and best festivals.

Every year attracting over 100,000 discerning music fans to Barcelona’s striking Parc del Forum, which overlooks the waters of the Balearic sea. Known for its eclectic lineups, which include both world renowned names and a host of up and comers and encompass a wide range of genres (previous performers include, Erykah Badu, Radiohead, Wu Tang Clan, Lou Reed, Motörhead, Public Enemy and the White Stripes) the festival first launched in the Catalonian city back in 2001, and is also set to branch out to other cities across the globe including, Porto and Los Angeles.

Named after the small Somerset village near where it is held, Glastonbury is the one of the world’s largest and most iconic music festivals.

With the most recent event drawing in a crowd of close to 200,000, for 5 days of music, art, food, drink and much much more. Since launching in 1970, the festival has hosted everyone from David Bowie to Beyonce, alongside a host of up and comers (many of whom would later go on to become major stars in their own right) and is also renowned for its unique ‘spiritual’, atmosphere, with its location thought to have once been an important site for pre-Christian, Pagan ceremonies.

One of the largest dance music festivals in Asia, Zoukout is held annually at Singapore’s Siloso Beach.

Usually during December, with the most recent event attracting some 50,000 attendees. First held back in 2000, the festival has grown dramatically over the course of the last decade, hosting some of the biggest names in dance music (including, Paul van Dyk,David Guetta, Tiesto and Armin van Buuren), along with myriad rising stars, and is also known for its extravagant 3D stages and epic laser and pyrotechnics displays!
