Strasbourg is home to the most stunning Christmas market in Europe. A whopping 300+ wooden chalets are strung along the cobbled streets, dazzling like baubles on a Christmas tree. Despite it’s diminutive stature, the city’s appetite for Christmas is generous with no less than 11 markets on offer! If you can’t find the perfect gift for someone here, perhaps it’s time to admit defeat and settle for the uninspired choice of vouchers for their favourite store. You'll also have time to visit Strasbourg Cathedral & La Petite France, go on cycling tours and much more.
Situated in the centre of Strasbourg, 300 m from Strasbourg Christmas Market and 1.2 km from Strasbourg Cathedral, our homely apartment not only brings all of the traditional Christmassy feelings, but a familiar sense of home that helps you settle right in. Feel free to explore the city right away and start filling your Christmas stockings with some unforgettable gifts.
Today we've got a full day of adventure and Christmas spirit. From 10am (giving you enough time for a delicious French breakfast), we'll head out with a private driver and you'll be able to Explore the Christmas markets in 3 different Alsatian villages at your own pace.
Not to mention you will discover Christmas markets in 6 different neighbourhoods of Colmar and enjoy traditional Alsatian Christmas lunch including bredalas, manalas, pretzels and mulled wine or try one of the gourmet restaurants that the region is famous for.
We'll finish our tour around 7:30pm giving you time to either rest at night with some world famous French wine, or hit the town and paint it Santa suit red!
Depending on how you chose to spend the night on your second day, you can enjoy this wine tasting tour either in the morning or the afternoon. This half day excursion will see us visiting two quaint towns famous for it's wine including gewürztraminer and Riesling. We'll learn about how the wines are produced, and have the opportunity to take back some truly spectacular bottles of red and white for the wine lover in our life. There's nothing quite as special as a vintage bottle of wine from France that has been carefully cherrypicked (or in this case grape-picked) by yourself.
After you've wrapped up a bottle of your favourite wine, you'll have one last evening to peruse the festive fairs and merry markets of Strasbourg to fill your stockings and find the perfect gift for your loved ones. Or alternatively indulge in mulled wine, bretzels (that's not a typo this is the more delicious sibling of the classic pretzel), and the regional classic Alsace’s Tarte Flambée.
You'll have a full belly and warm heart after this magical Christmas Market long weekend break. Just be sure to check the weight of your return baggage, as you may have a whole suitcase full of gifts to haul home.
