Backpackers have long known about it's ease of access to kif (local cannabis), but the town is still no slave to tourists expectations and will let help you feel how it is to live as a local as opposed to treating you like a stranger. It's also fringed by lush rolling green hills that are well worth a visit.

In the past Tangier was known not only as Europe's gateway into Africa, but a place for the eccentric artists and fringes of society including international spies to go and reside.
