Hotel Forecourt Plays Host To Unlikely Gig

Several weeks ago the Australian government implemented a new rule to ensure the safety of locals by making it protocol for foreign visitors to be quarantined inside a hotel room for 2 weeks on arrival.

This measure is in place regardless of whether visitors are symptomatic or not. Some of the rooms were in less than exemplary condition and social media posts were going viral.

However, that raised empathy and one hotel decided to take matters into their own hands to raise the spirits of their guests on the final night of lockdown.

Sofitel Wentworth in Sydney’s CBD hired a DJ to come and pump up the jam in the courtyard so the guests on lockdown could have a mini party of their own.

The hotel was hosting approx 400 people after they had come home from holidays or business trips and Wednesday was the scheduled day for them to be released from quarantine.

That marked Tuesday as the final night of lockdown and the DJ in the foreyard was greeted by thunderous applause by the room bound guests.

A large majority of the guests were seen standing at their balconies throwing shapes and showing their excitement at the entertainment.

One excited participant of the balcony dance militia told 7news: “I feel like I’m a golden retriever that has just been stuck in a room and hasn’t been able to go on a walk, and this concert was just all my energy over two weeks.”

This comes as part of a broader theme of people finding ways to raise the spirits of those forced to stay in during a lockdown.

Spain has been extremely hard hit by the virus with the most recorded cases outside of USA, there fitness instructors were seen leading people on exercise classes.

The video was from an apartment complex in Seville, a beautiful part of the south of Spain, where hundreds of residents were treated to an aerobics workout for free. Perfect timing too given how little exercise everyone is getting.

An upbeat soundtrack was backdrop for locals being pushed through sets of crunches, squats and star jumps. It seemed to go down a treat with the community.

The footage comes courtesy of Spanish fitness group Sano Sevilla Los Bermejales.

The videos caption said: "This is how @gonzalo_gbroto is passing the time with his neighbors.

"This is the spirit of Sano Sevilla Los Bermejales.

"Despite such adverse circumstances, we're going to get the best out of you."
